In-situ activation of chymotrypsin takes place in the  A. jejunum.  B. duodenum.  C. ileum.  D. pancreas.

1 Answer

In-situ activation of chymotrypsin takes place in the pancreas. Chymotrypsin is a digestive enzyme produced in the pancreas in an inactive form called chymotrypsinogen. In the small intestine, chymotrypsinogen is activated by the enzyme trypsin, which is also produced by the pancreas. This activation takes place in the lumen of the small intestine, not in the pancreas.
